Consultant - Safety and Risk (Technical Safety)

We are a Process Safety and Risk Management consultancy, an affiliate of the Vanguard Solutions Group of Companies, covering various territories predominately South-East Asia, Australia, Middle East, North/South Americas and Europe. We specialise in the provision of high quality safety engineering and risk management services, including Process Safety Studies, Risk Assessments, Safety Case Development, Reliability Engineering and Environmental Risk Management, to industries including oil and gas, petrochemical, defence, mining and public transport infrastructure.

We are also a partner and reseller of Sphera Solutions Software products specialising in Risk Assessment, Emission monitoring, Chemical Management, Hazardous Goods Management, Incident Management, Management of Change and Maintenance/Repair/Operations software

Job Details and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director/Principal Consultant, you are responsible for projects and leading and performing special assignments related to Risk Management (QRA/FRA/ERA, etc.) and Safety Engineering work aspects by chairing safety studies (HAZID, Bow-tie, HAZOP, SIL Assessments/Verification, etc.), FSA Studies, including Safety Cases in Singapore and abroad and other deliverables required for the work execution including

  • Independently working on projects and assignments accompanied with pier reviews by Principal

  • Contact and liaison with clients and providing support for enquires.

  • Leading the projects technical side and providing supervision for other staff

  • Ensuring work project execution in line with the project schedules and client requirements

  • Monitoring own project and project staff targets in line with the project and the company Performance Output Indicators (POI)

Ensuring project deliverables and following up with clients


Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from recognised accredited educational organisation. 

  • 7-10 years of engineering experience in Technical Safety and Risk Management gained in Oil & Gas industry predominately with consulting/engineering companies.

  • Sound knowledge and significant experience in the field with history of leading projects

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Self-driven with ability to supervise project/assignment teams

  • Excels in an applied engineering environment and what it entails

  • Possess the right attitude to succeed in end results delivery


• 1 year renewable contract - 3 month probation period (if required and conversion to final contract depending on assessment)

• Remuneration package: Basic + Performance based annual bonus. Private medical and Business Travel Insurances. Allowances for telephone and other work related activities.

• Additional in house and training with outside organisations subject to work requirements will be provided
